Spring Beaded Wire Wreath

You have got to try this simple Spring Beaded Wire Wreath!   While it takes a short time to put together, it make a simple, elegant statement on a front door, mantle or even a window.

Supplies

• Wire ring 
• Artificial flowers in desired color and style
• Wooden beads (20 mm) 
• Hot glue and glue gun 
• Floral tape or wire 
• Twine (optional)

Directions

• Find the place on the wire ring where it has been sealed together.  This is a very weak spot.  Lightly bend this back and forth until the seal separates.  If needed, you can use wire cutters.
• Add beads to the ring, taking up about 75% of the ring.
• Place a bead of hot glue to both ends of the line of beads to hold them taught in place on the ring.
• Include flowers and other accessories using floral tape or wire.  You may also choose to hot glue.  I like to recycle wreath forms, flowers, etc., so floral tape or wire allows for the pieces to be reused.
• Cut a piece of twine about 4 inches long, wrap it around the ring and tie a knot in the ends.  This provides you with a loop to use as a hanger for the wreath.  This is optional.  You can also choose to hang the wreath directly by the beaded ring.

Snowman Yarn Wreath

This adorable snowman yarn wreath will give a warm, cozy appeal to your home’s front door or your mantle.  Yarn wreaths are my favorite wreaths for winter months.  They are so simple yet so bold.  This snow white wreath just screams winter.  You can almost picture this little guy coming to life and skating through town.  

If your kids love to help you make your crafts and wreaths, this is a great one to have them work on.  They can wrap the yarn around the foam wreath form.  Depending on their age or cutting skills, they may be able to cut out the snowman’s hat.  It’s a fun way to get the kids involved in making cherished Christmas decor that you bring out every year.

**This wreath is one that would be best used inside or on a door with a covered porch to keep the yarn from getting wet.**

Supplies

• White Loop Yarn (2 skeins)
• 1 white 6 inch wreath form
• 1 white 10 inch wreath form
• Black felt-stiff/heavy-duty (sparkles optional)
• Small sprig of holly or other green and berries
• Zip ties (2)
• Hot glue and glue gun
• 10 inch piece of narrow ribbon for hanging wreath (optional)
• Ribbon (wired)–for this I chose a flannel ribbon

 Directions

• Hot glue one end of loop yarn to the foam wreath form
• Wrap the loop yarn around the foam wreath forms until both forms are covered
• Use zip ties to connect the two wreath forms together, hiding the zip lines with the loop yarn
• Draw and cut out a top hat of felt
• Hot glue the hat to the top wreath form.  Glue on green stem and berries if you choose
• Tie desired length of ribbon around the neck of the snowman-hot glue can be used to secure the ribbon to the snowman

Simple Evergreen Christmas Wreath

Evergreen trees and branches just scream tradition and Christmas.  This Simple Evergreen Christmas Wreath brings a traditional touch to your door or mantle.

I love all things natural and outdoors.  When it’s so cold in the winter that you cannot stand to be outside for long, it feels so nice to bring a little of the outdoors inside.  While I love bright and colorful Christmas decor, I have changed the past couple of years to add more of a traditional and woodsy theme to our decor.  Check out my woodland Christmas wreaths here.

Supplies

• Evergreen wreath form (Hobby Lobby)
• Ribbon (wired)
• Berry picks (2)
• Snowflake picks (2)
• Ornament (I chose a metal sign ornament from Hobby Lobby)
• Twine or fishing line
• Hot glue gun with glue sticks

Directions

• Tie metal ornament to the top of the wreath form
• Make a bow from the ribbon
• Hot glue bow to the wreath form
• Slide snowflake picks into wreath and wrap the stems around the wreath form (Optional way is to remove the stems and hot glue the snowflakes to the wreath)
• Slide berry picks into the wreath form and hot glue in various hidden places to hold onto the wreath

Winter Loop Yarn Wreath

This winter loop yarn wreath is such a warm addition to your door.  It is darling with it’s rustic cardinal ornament and snuggly loop yarn.

Loop yarn is perfect for wreaths.  The texture of the wreath reminds me of the cuddle weather of winter and makes me want to grab some hot tea, a blanket and snuggle up on the sofa.

This is such an easy wreath to make.  It takes about 15 minutes and only because it takes a little time to wrap the yard around the wreath form.  So, cue up a Christmas movie and grab a spot on the sofa.  Once you have wrapped the wreath, you have little left to do before you can admire your creation.

Supplies 

• Black loop yarn-1 skein
• Wire wreath form (This one was purchased at Dollar Tree)
• Red bird ornament (I purchased this one at Hobby Lobby)
• Twine

This wreath has special meaning for me and my family.  My grandmother, for as long as I can remember, loved cardinals.  Everyone gave her cardinal knickknacks, sweaters, magnets and anything else you can imagine.  When she passed away, I started noticing cardinals everywhere.  I bought a small cardinal to go in a planter as a reminder of that special lady.  When I saw this little galvanized metal ornament, I immediately wanted to make it in a wreath for winter.  I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did.  

Directions

• Tie one end of yarn to wreath form
• Wrap yarn around wreath form until it is fully covered
• Tie bird ornament to the wreath form using twine-hide twine in the loop yarn between two loops
• Optional (Tie a piece of twine to the wreath form as a hanger for the wreath)

Woodland Winter Wreaths

These woodland winter wreaths are a great way to bring outdoor charm indoors for the winter season.  Deer are beautiful creatures.  When I think of being outdoors in winter, I think of leafless tree limbs, pine cones on the ground and deer off in the distance.  This year, I decided to bring the outdoors inside for our winter decor.

White Deer Wreath

Supplies

• Embroidery hoop of desired size
• Paint (I used leftover wall paint from a touch up job I had just finished in the hallway earlier that day)
• Paintbrush
• Burlap ribbon in buffalo check print
• Stick stems with pine cones
• Hot glue gun with hot glue
• Twine
• Fishing line (optional)
• Large deer head ornament (I found this one at Hobby Lobby)

Directions

• Paint hoop and let dry
• Glue stems of sticks and pine cones on each side.  Make sure the hoop closure is on the top in the center.
• Tie the ornament to the top of the embroidery hoop with its hanging tie or with fishing line
• Create a bow using burlap ribbon
• To cover the clasp of the embroidery hoop and give a little color to the top of the wreath without adding a second bow, I created a loop from the burlap ribbon and glued it around the hoop clasp.
• Add twine to hang the wreath

Bronze Deer Wreath

Supplies

• Hoop wreath form
• DecoArt Rich Espresso metallic paint
• Paint brush
• Evergreen stems
• Berry stems
• Deer antler (real or fake-this one is fake)
• Basswood deer ornament
• Twine
• Fishing line (optional)
• Hot glue and glue gun
• Burlap ribbon

Directions

• Paint hoop wreath form and ornament with Rich Espresso paint and let them dry
• Take evergreen and berry stems apart.  Glue them there you would like them on the wreath form.
• Tie twine to the top, center of the wreath in the desired length for your door
• Use fishing line to hang deer ornament from the top, center of the wreath
• Make a bow with the burlap ribbon and glue it to the top, center of the wreath
