DIY Valentine Decor
Red Buttons on Canvas
What you need:
- Canvas
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Red buttons
This project is so simple. Simply spell out each letter of the word love with hot glue. I recommend putting one letter on at a time so the glue does not dry before you get all of the buttons added. You can write the letters on in pencil first if you choose. I just put the buttons on haphazardly. I like order and organization in life. But, I like decor a little whimsical.
Black Yarn Wreath with Hearts
What you need:
- 14 inch wire wreath form (Dollar Tree)
- String
- Red felt
- Scrap paper
- Scissors
- Glue gun and glue stick
- Loop yarn in black
Directions for wreath:
Find the end of the yarn. Tie that end to an interior wire of the wreath form. Then, just start wrapping the yarn around the wreath. One skein of yarn should complete a 14 inch wreath wire wreath form. If you use a larger form or use a loose wrap, you may need an additional skein. When you finish wrapping the wreath form, tie the end to the wire wreath form and hide the tie within the loops.
This wreath can also be made in other colors and for other occasions. See the white winter wreath.
Heart Garland:
Fold scrap paper in half and draw half of a heart on the fold of the paper. Then, cut it out. Voila!, you now have a perfectly symmetrical heart. Use this as a template. Trace and cut out red felt hearts. Hot glue the hearts to a piece of string. I used leftover wrapping string from Christmas and it worked great. Tie the ends of the strings to each side of the wreath.
