Joy Loop Yarn Wreath

Joy Loop Yarn Wreath

This simple JOY loop yarn wreath is so pretty and quick to assemble.  You will want to make some to give to all of your friends and family this Christmas.

  • Foam wreath form in desired size (I used a 16 inch wreath form in white)
  • Black loop yarn (1 1/2 skeins for the one seen here.  If you paint the wreath form black, you could get away with 1 skein)
  • Ribbon in desired pattern (I love buffalo check for Christmas, especially red)
  • Joy (tin sign I bought from Hobby Lobby-on sale in their Christmas collections)
  • Twine

  • Start by wrapping the yarn around the wreath form.  I used 1 1/2 skeins of yarn for this wreath.  Hold the end of the yarn against the wreath form and then overlap the first wrap of yarn around the end piece to hold it in place.  (Using black yarn makes the white wreath form a bit difficult to completely cover without using more than one skein of yarn.  I needed it to be thick enough to cover the white.  If you choose, you can paint the wreath form black before wrapping the form with yarn.  Let the paint dry completely before wrapping the yarn).
  • When you have finished wrapping the yarn around the wreath form, tie the end of the yarn to the yarn on the back of the wreath.   Fluff the yarn if needed because sometimes the loops get mashed down while wrapping.
  • Use twine to tie the metal sign on to the wreath form.  Hide the ties of the twine in the yarn.  You may also want to use twine in a loop to hang the wreath.
  • Make a bow with the ribbon you have chosen.  Use twine to tie the bow onto the wreath form.  You may also use hot glue if you choose.  I like to change up my accessories on wreaths and use them multiple times.  So, using twine is a great way to allow you to switch out those accessories by season.

Merry Christmas!
